Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Fountain Timber
Every October, the fundraising event Wear It Pink raises millions of pounds for breast cancer research by encouraging people to wear something pink and donate whatever they can to this worthwhile cause.
Since 2002, the charity has raised an incredible £36 million pounds to help people affected by this life-changing disease.
The employees at Fountain Timber have been supporting the event for years in a number of different ways. As well as wearing pink on the day and decorating the yard and shop with pink balloons. Some of us have also been showcasing our culinary skills by baking cakes and then asking colleagues to donate money for each slice they eat —whatever we can do to raise money for life-saving cancer research.
This year, the event held extra personal significance as our colleague, Sarah, who has battled cancer herself, ran for 60 miles and raised over £1000 for this worthy cause.
We are extremely proud of our Sarah and thrilled that we were able to support her and do our bit to help her exceed her fundraising goal.
